It's Christmastime in Essen!

Do you need some good ideas for your Christmas gifts this year? Yes? The annual huge Christmas market in Essen is a damn good place! Every December, the downtown of Essen is fully decorated with colorful lights and Christmas trees everywhere. You can find nearly everything here. Good wine and food, awesome art, culture, and a beautiful Christmas atmosphere. I love this time of the year and it was a good moment to try out my new Lomo Fisheye No. 2 and the Lomo Color Negative ISO 800.

The Lomo Color negative ISO 800 is a really good choice in my opinion for this kind of scene, especially at night. Beautiful colors and a good contrast. Well, my photos are not the best of course (I started trying to be a lomographer just two months ago), but I think they are able to show the beautiful Christmas atmosphere. (I would be happy to get any tips or comments to improve my photos of course!)

The annual Christmas market in Essen is divided in two big parts. The first part is placed at the beginning of Essen’s downtown in front of the Central Station and the second at the other end of the main shopping street on the Kennedy Square. There is nothing you cannot find here. You can get really good food, you could enjoy some culture in one of our museums or theatres in downtown, there’s a lot of possibilities to go shopping. For example, in the shopping center Limbecker Platz, one of the biggest centers in Germany (go and visit the shop LINDBERGH to get new lomographic stuff) or just enjoy the people and the nice scene at night.

Have a good time!
