Baby It's Cold Outside: Where Do You Go for Some Holiday Treats?

The holidays are definitely just around the corner...you can feel it in the air, you can see it in the mall displays, and you can even hear it through the latest Justin Bieber song. So before the mad holiday rush consumes us all, where do you go to seek refuge from the cold, have your favorite holiday treat, or just have a yummy cup of hot chocolate? Here's a glimpse of some popular NYC holiday hangouts.

Serendipity 3
Made even more popular by the movie, Serendipity (starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale), Serendipity 3 is just one of those charming, hole in the wall restaurants that, just like its name suggests “is the art of making happy discoveries or finding the unexpectedly pleasant by chance or sagacity”. Aside from its quaint interiors (making it an adorable place to have a date or catch up with your closest and dearest), the main highlight of Serendipity 3 is of course it’s world-famous Frrrozen Hot Chocolate. Mouthwatering-ly good and oh-so-sinful, it’s the perfect drink to bash away the holiday blues. Of course, given that’s already freezing out there, the restaurant has a barrage of hot items as well, like the Serendipitous Hot Chocolate, Chocolaccino, and Serendip aside from the various appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and cold & hot drinks. YUM!

225 East 60th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, New York, NY 10022

Dylan’s Candy Bar
Do you have a sweet tooth? Then brace yourself for the ultimate sugar high! Dylan’s Candy Bar is a truly awesome candy wonderland filled with all sorts of chocolates (my favorite), gummy candies (also my favorite), even toys, fashion, and accessories (?!) Famously owned by Ralph Lauren’s daughter, Dylan, it’s just one of those places that you cannot pass up on if you happen to be in NYC.

1011 Third Ave., New York, NY 10021, 646-735-0078
Subway: N, R, W, 4, 5, 6 to 59th St/Lexington Ave

Note: Dylan’s Candy Bar has four branches in New York (as well as one in Texas and Florida) with the flagship store in NYC also housing its cafe and bar.

Max Brenner
A well-known and well-loved international chain of cafes for chocolate lovers, Max Brenner is definitely not to be missed should you ever find yourself in the area. The homey interiors will make you feel, well, right at home, while getting your hot chocolate fix through the restaurant’s signature hug mug (too cute!) If you’re ever in the mood for more than just a cup of hot chocolate, then drop by Max Brenner and enjoy the ultimate chocolate indulgence.

841 Broadway, New York NY 10003, (Btwn 13th & 14th St)
