There's nothing better than a nice sandwich or some crisps as you sit around enjoying the breeze and taking in the greenery at the Botanic Gardens.
My friends and I love to picnic. We love the idea of potluck and of bumming together on a straw mat somewhere cool on the weekend and are constantly on the lookout for a good picnic location. Singapore Botanic Gardens could just be it.
Located near the centre of the city, Singapore Botanic Gardens is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. The 150-year old garden possesses an array of botanical and horticultural attractions.
It’s a popular place to go shooting for nature photography enthusiasts, families, and adrenaline junkies who can play frisbee, soccer or do yoga there. There are two small lakes where there are black-and-white swans, and also an orchid garden to stroll around in.
I’ve had picnics there a couple of times and I must say, it has always been a pleasant experience.
There’s plenty of shade and usually it’s not too hot, so it’s perfect for picnics. If you’re lucky, you get to play with really cute kids as well!
It’s a great place to relax and unwind on a weekend.
