The annual Denver Botanic Garden corn maze and pumpkin patch is a an event not to be missed! We've made a family adventure out of this day for a couple years running, and the experience is great for many ages and tastes. Bring on fall!

The Denver Botanic Garden has a secondary site just outside of the city where they host a yearly pumpkin patch and corn maze. Our family has been there for two years in a row now to enjoy the changing seasons, pick out a pumpkin, and get lost in the maze.

Located at Chatfield in Littleton, Colorado, the site includes several miles of nature trails and farmland along the banks of Deer Creek. It’s accessible year round, but the biggest draw of the year is the pumpkin patch and corn maze that occur together in October.

The corn maze is quite large, spanning 8 acres and taking most people about 1.5 hours to complete. There is a halfway point with an exit, so it’s possible to bail out early if you’re having trouble. But where’s the fun in that?

There are also markers throughout the maze that correspond to clues handed out at the entrance. Questions are multiple choice, and each answer leads you to a different direction.

Once you make it out, there are many components of an old working farm to explore.

And of course, there is festival type food, complete with funnel cakes and corn dogs.

After getting lost and eating lunch, most people head over to the pumpkin patch to pick out a few pumpkins. There is no shortage of choices.
