Auschwitz Concentration Camp I

Auschwitz, located in Oswiecim outside of Krakow, Poland has become a symbol of the Holocaust. The preserved memorial consists of two parts of the former concentration camp: Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau. A guided tour makes it possible to understand this place and requires about three-and-a-half hours. This article shows pictures of Auschwitz I.

It is needless to talk about the history of Auschwitz here, it’s just too painful. However, I strongly recommend visiting the Memorial while you’re around Krakow, it makes us look into the past and reflect on every action that we’ve done all this time, and we should be grateful for what we have now.

Walking in between the blocks…

The pictures of some of the victims are hung on the walls along the corridor…

The once-high-electric-barbed-wire-fences…

The properties of the victims were collected in the museum, there were:

(i) glasses

(ii) kitchenwares

(iii) luggage..with names…

(iv) combs

(v) shoes

(vi) prostheses

and so much more…

I can’t believe that this really happened until I was able to see it myself… I cried… :(
