On the Italian territory a few kilometers away from Rimini, you'll find the Republic of San Marino.
One of the most ancient republics after that of Rome. Founded around 300 AD, by a stonemason, Santo Marino, who escaped from Christian persecution during the reign of Emperor Diocletian.

In 2008, the city of San Marino and Monte Titano (the historical centre) where declared UNESCO world heritage sites.
The location is captivating. Here you can savour a splendid panorama as well as some excellent small shops where you’re very likely to pick up a bargain.
This is a place which I’m sure you’ll never forget.

Should note that San Marino is its own country with its foreign affairs managed by Italy.
