Hire a Bike in Romantic Central Park, NYC

One of the nicest things to do in New York City in the autumn (fall) months has got to be hiring a bike and exploring the vast and beautiful Central Park.

As I don’t have a bike of my own at home, I was desperate to hire one when I was on holiday in September in New York City. Luckily as soon as you get within 20 metres of the park, you are bombarded by various companies offering you all different packages and styles of bicycles. My advice is, whatever they offer you, and however reasonable it sounds at first, walk away from them and they will make a significant reduction. We paid $20 for an hour for the 2 of us but I am sure we could have got this for less if we hadn’t been so sick of walking already.

I went around the park with my 18-year-old cousin and the surroundings are really amazing and I couldn’t help but think how nice it would be to go there as a date some time. I shot a lot of the photos here with Fuji Sensia and Redscale XR, which gave some nice soft effects to these photos, which really emphasises the romanticism of the location.

There is so much to see and do and you could easily spend a day or more there. My favourite part of the park that we got to see was the fountain, about a third of the way north from the south end of the park which you can see in the photos below.
