Deciding to get married in Italy gave me the chance to visit some of the most beautiful coastlines I have ever seen. Not only was Sorrento itself amazing but short trips out to sea gave me the opportunity to see Capri and the even more stunning Amalfi Coast.
I was recently fortunate to visit what are, in my opinion, some of the most beautiful coastlines I have ever seen on my honeymoon/holiday.
First stop and the base for my holiday in Italy was Sorrento, a small town in Campania, southern Italy. Perched on the edge of the coastline atop cliffs, Sorrento offers beautiful vistas out to sea, not just of its own harbour and beach but across the bay of Naples to Mount Vesuvius.
Boarding one of the many ferries in Sorrento Harbour takes you to new destinations with arguably the most popular being the short trip to Capri. The island itself is as picturesque as you can imagine and the town offers designer label shops and pizzerias where the rich and famous have dined. More interestingly to me though is the picture-postcard harbour lined with boats and ships from small row boats to large ferries.
Back in the warm calm waters of Sorrento Harbour, another ferry is boarded to set sail for Amalfi. It is said that the Amalfi Coast offers some of the most beautiful and spectacular coastlines in the world. Having seen them, I would have to agree. Whether you prefer swimming in the clear seas under a blue, cloudless sky or taking in the sights on the coastal roads there’s something for everyone.
So whether visiting Sorrento, Capri, Amalfi or all three, you’ll be sure to soak up the sights and sounds of the stunning coastlines whilst sipping down a Limoncello or two. Whether spending time on solid ground or out to sea, just remember those cameras and snap some of the most beautiful coastlines around.
