When traveling in Cambodia, you cannot and will not avoid visiting Angkor. And fortunately for you, it’s amazing! Enjoy the temples in the middle of the forest and the paddy fields, going from one to the other by bike or tuk-tuk!

Angkor is beautiful. Angkor is magical. Angkor is dreamy. Angkor is popular. Angkor reminds you of Tomb Raider… Arriving early to the temple from Siem Reap, your base camp when visiting the ruins, you’ll have the opportunity to walk alone among the old stones, the bas-reliefs, the statues, and the early morning mist…
Some temples are low, some temples are high, even vertiginous, some temples are in the forest, covered by trees, others are on a plane. The diversity of the temples and the fact they are really not very far from one another, make the visit a real adventure: arriving to a new temple you’ll never know what you’ll discover next!
Even if most of the temples are 100% safe today, Cambodia is recovering from the Red Khmers, war, and landmines period, so you still feel like a war reporter walking in the temple with your analogue camera.
Buddha is everywhere and Buddha is splendid! You’ll watch its 4 faces everywhere engraved in the rock in the temples, above doors, etc.
You can use half a day to go to the the Tonle Sap Lake which is close enough from Siem Reap and the temple. You’ll see a village on stilts and the mangrove swamp. Being on the boat feels good after several days on a tuk-tuk and walking and climbing temples feel great!
