Rip This Joint @ The Constitution, Camden

Great backstreet boozer with ace pub garden on the canal that once a month hosts an Underground Punk-Fuzz-Rock-Noise-DIY night in their cellar!

On the outside, “The Constitution” is just another backstreet boozer in the wilds of Camden. However, once inside, it’s not a bad pub, brilliantly kept ales, colourful locals, pool table, and one of the best pub gardens in the area (a view over the canal no less).

The basement’s the place though. Through the door next to the pool table, is a stairway that leads down to the ‘Basement Bar’. There’s often music going on here, however, once a month (generally the 3rd Saturday), the place takes on a whole other character, when the Rip This Joint crowd turn up! There’s no stage, bands play on the floor. £2 on the door with all the money going to the bands. Four bands handpicked by the headline act, no nonsense, no fuss, no attitude, just challenging and interesting alternative acts playing their guts out for the most enthusiastic crowds in town. The best underground – punk-avant-rock-indie-noise-pop-drone breaks non-commercial music for non-commercial people.
