Into the European House of Photography of Paris (Le Maison Européenne de la Photographie)

The “Maison Européenne de la Photographie” holds some of the best contemporary photography expos in Paris. Here, multiple exhibits are held along the year allowing an upper view into the worldwide trends in photography art.

The Parisian Maison Européenne de la Photographie (the European House for Photography) is a major center for contemporary photographic art.

This museum (commonly designated by MEP) is housed at the Hotel Henault de Cantobre located at the number 82, Rue Francois Miron in the Marais. To get here, the key metro stations are Saint Paul (line 1) or Pont Marie (line 7).

MEP’s formula is based on holding different temporary exhibitions during the year and displaying several themes in parallel.

It is open every day from 11am to 20pm (except on Mondays, Tuesdays, and holidays). The entrance costs 7 euros. If you are living in Paris, and love photography it might be worthwhile to get an annual subscription for 28 euros.

Presently, until the 25th of September, it is possible to get acquainted with five amazing exhibits, namely L’ombre de la guerre, Jane Evelyn Atwood, Xavier Lambours, Génération de l’air and Xavier Fourtou. For more information read my article “A Journey into the Five Amazing Exhibits at the Maison Europeenne de la Photographie in Paris”.

And as after every exhibit it is important to relax in order to process all the images seen and information obtained what going to have a coffee with a Portuguese pastry at “Comme a Lisbonne” (located on the number 37 of rue du Roi de Sicile).

Another option is to go lay down in Place de Vosges or sit in one of the cafes in the arcades.
