Pedaling Around the Ebro Delta Rice Fields

You do not need to go all the way to Vietnam to see a sight like this because when you're in the Ebro Delta, you'll find beautiful landscapes where you can contemplate for hours.

The Ebro Delta is the largest wetland area of the Catalan lands with a total area of over 320 square kilometers.

The landscape of the delta has a great personality that gives it a unique character throughout Catalonia. Completely flat, the land already has a peculiar appearance. Inside, find areas of vegetable and fruit crops, particularly broad and extensive rice fields, changing appearance with the seasons (in winter earthy, flooded by water in spring, green in summer), which have a unique beauty. On the coast, you will find one of the most attractive views of the Mediterranean lake, with large lakes surrounded by reed beds and scattered rushes. In the periphery, large areas of saline soils with halophytic vegetation (saltwort fruticose, rushes of sea), and the lengthy and deserted sandy beaches with dunes topped with sand are other examples of psammophyte vegetation well adapted to the arid and sandy environment.

This Lomographic series was made in the Tancada area where there is a perfect bike lane to go riding around the lagoon area. The landscape is very relaxing yet spectacular, it calls striking attention to the large size of the area and its beauty.

Being summer, the green color of the rice is perfect for slide film photography as it is the best choice to saturate the colors. The contrast of green fields with the blue sky is just as attractive as the beautiful shades of orange in the sun.

So if you want to oxygenate your lungs and nourish your eyes, go take a walk in the Vietnam Catalan!
