Walking Among the Skycrapers in Potsdamer Platz, Berlin

I like skyscrapers, I've always loved these incredible buildings, in fact, they fascinate me, and one of my dreams is to visit New York, but instead I was in Berlin. And I needed to visit Potsdamer Platz. Now I invite you to visit one of the most impressive and modern cities in the world from the hand of the plastic lens of my Diana F+.

Potsdamer Platz is one of the highlights of Berlin, it’s famous among other things because at present, the Berlin Film Festival, the Berlinale is held there.

But Potsdamer Platz’s origins actually date back to the nineteenth century, where it was an important commercial and cultural area. In addition, as curiosity, this was where the first traffic light in Europe can be found. During the Second World War, it was practically destroyed like many other parts of the city.

When the war finished, and the rebuilding of the city started, they decided to make Potsdamer Platz the most important economic center of the city and began building large structures to fill the square of glass and aluminum! Great!

If you want to know more, it’s important to talk about the Sony Center, one of the most famous in the city and was opened in 2000. As you can see, it’s a new area in the middle of Berlin. It was designed by Helmut Jahn and owned by Sony, who sold it in February 2008 to several American and German financial companies.

It’s cover is important, halfway between dome and tent, which creates under it, a space full of bars, restaurants, and a big fountain where tourists and Berliners come together in an atmosphere of peace. The Sony Center has shops, restaurants, a conference hall, hotel, offices, film museum, an i-Max cinema, a large Sony Store, and Legoland, a theme park featuring the fun world of Lego.

I recommend you to visit it, the Sony Center and Potsdamer Platz and its surroundings. It’s something new, filled with shops, and a nice place to walk around in to get to know the other side of the city better.

The Diana F+ is a new twist on the ‘60s classic cult camera. Famous for its dreamy and soft-focused images, the Diana F+ is now packed with extra features such as panorama and pinhole capabilities. Available in our Online Shop.
