Camden Roundhouse

One of London's best music venues

The Camden Roundhouse is without a doubt one of the most stunning music venue’s in London. It started it’s life in 1846 as a steam-engine repair shed although it was only used as this for the first ten years, at which point it became a storage warehouse right up until the second world war. In 1964 playwright Arnold Wesker established the building as a cutting edge performing arts venue which hosted performances by greats such as Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd.

The venue closed in 1983 due to lack of funding but was later brought back to life when it was bought by The Norman Trust in 1996 who still own it today. Since then The Roundhouse has undergone a 2 year £30 million redevelopment and restoration which finished in 2006. It is now a truly remarkable space featuring a 2 level circular performance venue in the original railroad turntable building, a creative center for 11-25 yr olds, lovely cafe/restaurant, and a great upstairs bar that leads out onto an outdoor deck which is a brilliant place in the summer to relax and have a drink with your friends before the show!

The Roundhouse’s downstairs restaurant Made In Camden (www.madeincamden.com) is open 7 days a week and open for brunch on the weekends, but is also just a great place to relax and read a book while enjoying one of their lovely milk shakes!
