The East Side Gallery is an outdoor gallery located on the eastern part of the Berlin Wall, 1316 meters length, which were saved for this purpose. It’s located along the River Spree and is considered as the longest art gallery outdoors, in the world.

It consists of 103 murals painted by artists from all over the world who wanted to pay tribute to freedom and hope for a better world. In its 20th anniversary, all the murals were painted in white and they asked the artists to return and paint the wall again. Lots of them refused because they said that the gallery should have been restored and the authorities should have prevented the destruction of the originals.

Visiting it is an experience. You will find different works that have been seen lots of times because they have been copied hundreds of times. The East Side Gallery is without a doubt, a museum, full of art and history.

It’s a highly-recommended location! ;)
