New York's Famous Roseland Ballroom

The Roseland Ballroom is a multipurpose hall located in the city's theatre district on 52nd Street I have seen a concert at the Roseland at least once a year for a good ten years. I would say it's one of my favorite venues to see a concert in New York City.

According to its website, the Roseland can accommodate 3,200 standing (with an additional 300 upstairs), 2,500 for a dance party, between 1,500 and 1,800 in theatre style, and 800 – 1,000 for a sit-down dinner.

Roseland is sometimes called “The World’s Greatest Ballroom.” Ballroom dancing and entertainment has been happening here for eight decades. It has echoed with some of the greatest concerts, entertainers, and events of our time. Dancers such as Arthur Murray, Joan Crawford, Ray Bolger, and Fred Astaire have graced Roseland’s stage and entertainers from Ozzie Nelson to The Rolling Stones and Madonna have also played there.

Roseland continues what it started in the 1920s, which is the tradition of bringing distinguished acts and clients to its venue, but now with an updated style.
