If There is a Line, the Falafel Must be Good!

A friend introduced me to Mamoun's Falafel Restaurant and I can't wait to go back!

I had my first falafel from Mamoun’s one spring evening in between parties. They have a little shop on MacDougal Street and if it wasn’t for the line of people outside you would probably just walk by it on your way to the next bar. It’s a small restaurant with one little table and a counter where you can order great middle eastern food. My friend and I ordered the falafel, but everything on the menu looked great. The vegetarian menus consists of falafel, hummus, baba ganouj, and tabouleh. For meat, there is shawarma, chicken kebab, shish kebab, and kefta kebab.

There are a couple benches outside where you can sit and eat or even better, wander down the street and grab a bench in Washington Square Park.

So if you’re in the village and hungry, stop by, have a falafel and check it off the list of “1000 Places to See Before You Die”.

Reading your article made me think of my first visit to America and my first ever taste of falafel, which was in Mamoun's New Haven, CT.... I just looked at the website and it looks exactly as I remember it and I still remember how amazing the falafel was!!!!
