Wondering what London was like more than 200 years ago? Highgate Cemetery opened in 1839 and still has that Victorian gothic look. A stunning location for pictures!
The cemetery is located in North London on Swain’s Lane. The cemetery is divided in two parts: the West Cemetery and the East Cemetery .
Needless to say that the architecture is breathtaking. But what I loved the most about the cemetery is that the trees, flowers, and green grass made the location fairytale like. I kept thinking about one of my favourite childhood movies FairyTale: A True Story.
It would have made the perfect location for Elsie Wright and Frances Griffiths to take pictures of the Cottingley Fairies.
Don’t forget to take a look and a picture of Karl Marx’s tomb.
