Months before, during the planning of our trip, we chanced upon the mention of Seoul Forest in one of the Seoul guide books. We have never heard of it and we were intrigued that it has an eco-forest where there were deers!
Seoul Forest is a huge undiscovered gem in the big treasure box that is Seoul. I can’t believe not many tourists were hanging out in the park or that more had been said about it. It is absolutely a wonderful space. We spent an entire afternoon there, walking and cycling throughout the whole park.
Within the park, there is an eco-forest where there is a deer enclosure, insect garden, sculpture garden, and several playgrounds scattered all over the park.
Of course, all these make the park an extremely popular place for an afternoon school excursion. school kids were everywhere, playing and picnicking – they were all so adorable. I couldn’t get enough of taking their photographs.
Fun (and random) fact: my friends and I call the little kids “ducklings” because a lot of them wear yellow and they are always trailing after their teachers in a little line. Aren’t they all so adorable? I want to pinch their cheeks!
Directions: Take the subway to Ttukseom Station, exit 8 and follow the signs.
