In the city of Beijing lies a place that's different from all the common tourist areas in China, The 798 Art District. Inside that district, one can see a wide array of exhibits and various art forms. There are also several souvenir and art shops within the district.
The cab dropped us off at the rear end of the Art District; We started our artsy adventure there. After a few steps, we saw several walls with graffiti. I instantly grabbed my camera and went trigger happy with the shutter. The graffiti on the walls were neatly made and it looked really cool.
After that, we walked towards the first exhibit that we saw. Unfortunately, many of the exhibits are prohibiting cameras inside their building, thus most of my shots were taken from the outside.
There are plenty of art exhibits scattered through the district. Among the exhibits, art and souvenir shops as well as restaurants and cafes were also scattered through the district. We ate our lunch at a cafe which had a very western look and feel.
Art and souvenir shops in the area have a really cool design and most of them sell cool stuff too! Some of the shops had art sculptures in front of their shops, which in my opinion, are very attractive.
It would take you more or less, a whole day just to go around and visit every exhibit and every shop in the Art District. It’s tiring, but it’s worth it!
