Almost Like a Bali Escape: Playa Tropical Resort

If you're in Manila and want to go to Bali, here's something closer. It's where you can go to get some peace and quiet.

Around six to eight hours by road, Playa Tropical is quite far from the city, but to enjoy a true hustle/bustle-free getaway, you must go the distance and Playa Tropical, makes it worth the while.

It is located in Currimao, Ilocos Norte. To get there quicker, you can take a plane to the Laoag Airport and travel an additional half an hour by car.

We initially didn’t plan on staying the night here, but after a bit of a long night of looking for nice accommodation, it’s where we ended up. We got there late so we just crashed and waited until morning. All we had known then was wow, they have nice and cozy rooms.

By morning it was a completely different story. What we found ourselves in was like a miniature Balinese-inspired paradise. The view was relaxing and it was very peaceful. I’m guessing it’s not that popular yet since we didn’t run into too many people while we were going around the resort, which makes it even better if you really want to get some much-needed R and R.

Families can choose to get the big Casa, which is already like a small house, with two floors and a small pool. It can house as much as eight people. The resort also has a playground and a game room with a billiards table, darts, air hockey, and Foosball, perfect for those with kids in tow.

They also have an infinity pool with the beach just beyond it. It’s quite a lovely view. You can also get spa treatments for the ultimate stress-free getaway.

You can have breakfast in the mini huts just in front of the infinity pool and the beach.

Also a nice venue for wedding receptions, is a pretty gazebo.

I can say that they are one of the best resorts in that area so if you’re off to explore northern Luzon, spending some time in Playa Tropical will be quite a relaxing experience.
