I've lost count of the number of sunsets I witnessed at Butterfly Beach.
Butterfly Beach is located at the west side of Tuen Mun, as it isn’t as famous as nearby Golden Beach and Coffee Bay, most visitors are locals. The nearby Butterfly Beach Park has a marina promenade, gardens and large BBQ facilities. The location is easily accessible and there are convenient stores and malls in the area. The BBQ facilities are very popular and are always filled to capacity during weekends and holiday eves.
However, I love to come here on a sunny Sunday afternoon with my camera. After having my afternoon tea, I waited for the sunset on the west most beach of New Territories. Cameras such as the
Horizon , LC-A, FM2, TLR, Pinhole had accompanied me and witnessed countless sunsets. The magnificent mountains and the longish beach beautified the composition of my sunset photos!
How to get there? Take KMB 59M, 59X, 59A, Light Rail 507, 610, 614, 614P, 615, 615P, Light Rail Bus 506, K52, alight at Tsuen Mun Pier and take a 10-minute stroll to the beach.
