My Favorite Spot in London: Regent's Park

Regent's Park is where you should go if you want to relax and get some great pictures. Did you know that Regent's Park has one of the largest Heronries in a European city? And if that's not enough, it's also the only place in Central London where you can find hedgehogs.

There are a lot of ways to get to Regent’s Park, my favorite is to get there by taking the tube to Baker Street and then walk from there. :) There will be plenty of directions on how to get there; as you get off the tube station turn right (you’ll see the Sherlock Holmes Museum) then continue straight and you’ll see the entrance to Regent’s Park.

Regent’s Park has more than 30,000 roses of 400 varieties. You can also spend some time at the Open Air Theatre (I would recommend checking the website for events). If you need to grab a bite you can either go to the Garden Cafe, the Boathouse Cafe or the Cow & Coffee Bean.

There are a lot of different gardens to explore: Queen Mary’s Gardens (if you want to take pictures of roses you should go to that one), The Wildlife Garden (it’s a demonstration garden to show wild plants in the park), Avenue Gardens (it’s full of spring bulbs and fountains), English Gardens (there are a lot of beautiful trees) and St.John Lodge Gardens, which is my favorite garden in Regent’s Park. It was built in 1812 but only two villas remain from the original construction. It’s a private residence but the garden is still open to the public. It’s usually the most quiet spot in Regent’s Park.

Don’t forget to bring food for the birds. ;)

You can also rent a boat with a friend, the perfect way to spend time on a sunny day.

You know, of all the times i've been to London i have never been to Regents Park.

I'll make sure to pay it a visit next time i pop into town.
