In a free translation Parque da Cerca means Park Fence. Located in Marinha Grande traditional center, the area of the park was an old area of gardens for the workers of the glass industry. The park is near administrative buildings and cultural and historical sites of the city including: City Hall, Municipal Archive, Library and Museum of Glass.
A feature of the park is that it has to be crossed in its entire length by a water line (Ribeira das Bernardas) and its relief is almost flat. With the use of the water line, a reflecting pool of great dimensions was built. The water line is crossed by two wooden bridges. There are playground areas, extreme sports; free sports and the execution of large outdoor events such as music concerts are allowed, as this is a multifaceted park meant especially for small fairs and outdoor exhibitions. Around the perimeter of the park is a bike path. It created a large green area for recreation and leisure. The park is meant to be used heavily by people. It is presented as an open park crossed by walking paths, centered on a large central square referenced by the magnificent Palm existent.
