London Hit List #1 Covent Garden
I love Covent Garden. The current markets in Covent Garden (the Apple Market and Jubilee Market) are memories of a time when Covent Garden was the main vegetable (and flower) market in London which was moved out to the new Covent Garden Market in the 70s. I have to admit that I am a fan of My Fair Lady and when I am in Covent Garden I often sing “Wouldn’t It be Love-er-ly” in my head…or to any unfortunate friends that I am with. Today it is vibrant and bustling with life, just as it was when it was still a functioning vegetable market. Today you can pick up craft pieces or jewelry in the Apple Market or have your palm read in the Jubilee Market.
