The coffee shop that feels like home

St. Davids coffee house is a little gem in South East London. Push open the heavy door, squeeze into the cosy room and smell the coffee, because this is home.

Get off the new East London line at Forest Hill, cross over the road and head straight to St. Davids. Order a coffee and a slice of apple pie and take the weight off your feet. This is that rare thing – a coffee shop where you really can relax, and where you really can watch the world go by.

The best seats are at the long table looking out of the front window, you can watch the people coming and going, or at the little round table by the counter. The shelves are filled with vintage childrens books, analogue radios and lovely knick knacks – great for photos! The owners don’t mind you quietly shooting away, as they are used to me being in there every sunday morning with my boyfriend, fully loaded up with camera and film for the day out ahead of me. I can never resist sneakily snapping the other customers as they chill out, easy like sunday morning!
