Bedroom Club

1

Part bar, part club, the Bedroom Bar is one of Shoreditch’s best-kept secrets. A wonderful loft space with a big dance floor, smoking terrace, and chill out room. True to its name, it does in fact have a bed tucked away in the top-left hand corner.

But it’s not for laying in bed people come here. Although late in the evening the bed becomes a haven for those who simply can’t stand up any more.:) It’s always fun to try and win the bed over, getting rid of the competition of lazy people like you who want to chill out. The crowd here is cool, no hassle, no bad boys looking for a fight, just chill, nice people who came in peace to enjoy music and possibly make friends.

Every Friday, DJs play the finest in house, funk, disco, soul and Latin music, with guest musicians dropping in to add to the vibe (even the mix of garage with live saxophone is possible). Saturdays are home to the long running Broken Soul Sessions, featuring OK_Ma’s Young Lee and Jake Sax, the best in soulful funky music. Expect House, Funk, Soul, Nu Disco, Hip Hop and Eclectic.

Best stories also happen while queuing for the loo. I met a wicked bunch of Northern Soul lady fans, all dressed up and with excellent stories. The time flew by and apparently I was absent for an hour, during which my friends also met some ladies who had no stories but accidentally (hmm?) all their cigarettes. Well, I came with pictures, at least.

If you suddenly get hungry from all these drinking and dancing, the bar serves nachos and grilled burgers. Both draught and bottled beer cost £3.80, but they only do lagers, no ales. There are the usual cocktails and shooters are on the menu as well.

The Bedroom Bar has a newly-opened chill out room decorated Moroccan style, and is also available for private hire. The room has its own bar and is available for groups of 40 to 80 people. Hire fee is £100 on Fridays and £150 on Saturdays for exclusive use.

Open until 2 am.
Entrance is free before 10 pm and is £3 after.
Last thing- Beware of bouncers at the door! Very tough crew.
