Visita Iglesia is a century-old tradition in the Philippines which involves visiting churches and holy places for prayer and part of that is attending mass. This place is one of the top Lenten destinations and it is where you can find the largest life-sized image of Jesus Christ on top of a mountain with his hands open wide. This place is called, Kamay ni Hesus.
Kamay ni Hesus Healing Church is a quiet and serene place to visit when you want to reflect and spend some time with the Lord. We went there as planned for a spiritual journey with my friends as Catholic pilgrims to experience the peaceful and tranquil environment while meditating and lifting our prayers to Him. The shrine is located on the slopes of Mt. Banahaw, Barangay Tinamnan, Lucban, Quezon. It also features a church where healing masses are celebrated by the known healing priest Fr. Joey Faller. He was the one who established the Center with a church and Bible-themed park for those in search of healing through God.
Also, on the site is a 292-step hill with life-sized figures depicting the 14 Stations of the Cross. On the top is a large statue of Jesus Christ, a 50-foot statue that is said to be the third biggest in the world. One of the attractions of the place is the concrete replica of Noah’s Ark. The Ark of Noah is really a building that is used to facilitate prayer meetings, recollections and retreats with an exterior made to resemble the ancient boat where Noah’s family took refuge from the Great Flood along with pairs of animals.
So for those planning a holy week trip or even a summer getaway, Kamay ni Hesus Shrine is a perfect place to commemorate the life and passions of Christ.
