Copenhagen for Beginners

Ever been to Copenhagen? If not, then I truly do recommend it! I went to Copenhagen for my sister's wedding, and ended up being blown away by its enchanting and beautiful views. You find the most picturesque little alleys and lanes, and if you catch good weather, streaming sunlight will fill your photographs. You will find yourself constantly snapping shots and filling roll after roll.

Copenhagen is the small capital city of Denmark. You will feel at home in no time, it is such a small welcoming city where nearly all people know each other. It is famous for its beautiful harbor that lies in the center of the city, connected to a long, winding river. Along the harbor are rows of pastel-colored houses and sweet cafes. I took my favorite picture on my roll there, its the multiple exposure where you see the rows of houses and a boat!

Copenhagen is a nice opportunity to get some city sight seeing done, yet still get some great shots on your camera, and enjoy the many activities available.

One thing not too miss out on, is the great photo store there. I was in search for some films, when I came across the shop “Photografica”. I looked in the window shelf and thought I was dreaming! It was overloaded with all types of Lomography cameras! It had an amazing collection of old cameras that aren’t easy to find at all! So when in Copenhagen, don’t forget to stop by that shop : http://www.spottedbylocals.com/copenhagen/photografica/

Whilst my visit in Copenhagen, I stayed with a family member living around the outskirts, called Solrand Strand. Solrand Strand is right near the beach and is simply beautiful no matter what season! During winter, you might find a wide beach with blocks of ice everywhere, yet during the summer season, the long and lonely beach is where you can take walks in the sunset. It is definitely a destination you should try to see. All you have to do is take the train for half an hour from the city central and tadaa! You´re there!

Copenhagen has lots of things to see and do even for such a small city. I sadly only had around 3 days there, so I had to rush through everything, one day being taken up by the wedding; I only had 2 days to do sightseeing, shopping, eating, and take pictures! I also tried to squeeze in some relaxing! So if you ever go, don’t worry, just take your time and try and see as much of the city as you like.

PS: All my pictures are taken with the Lomo LC-A loaded with a Fuji Superia 200 roll. I also had my Holga120CFN with me but haven’t had the chance to develop my pictures yet. :( If you want to see how they turned out, they might be uploaded in my Lomo Home soon. :)

Copenhagen is so beautiful, I've been there only once but totally want to go there again asap! Too bad I wasn't into Lomography back then! :-(
