Frankly speaking, Kostroma is a surprising city! Here I finished my university and met true friends. There are a lot of small restaurants. Now I live in another city but from time to time I like to visit my favourite city!
The ancient city Kostroma is one of the most beautiful cities in the central part of Russia. It will celebrate its next anniversary in 2012, 860 years since it’s foundation! City center has radial and semiring planning. The streets seem like it has beams which then gather on the main square called “skovorodka” or “frying pan” in English.It’s real name is Susanin Square. Kostroma is famous for its churches. Especially well-known is Ipatiev Monastery. It is situated in the picturesque bank or the Kostroma River. “Skovorodka” draws not only groups of tourists but local youth too. There are a lot of places where you can eat, drink, dance, relax and so on. That’s why I like visiting this marvelous city.
