Camden Town: a unique experience in northwest London offering markets, bars, and a hustle and bustle like no other! It is an amazing place to visit whilst in London. It oozes entertainment and offers a large variety of markets, bars and restaurants all pulled together by one amazing atmosphere.
Camden Town is hugely popular with both tourists and locals and offers a unique shopping and dining experience amidst a sea of hustle and bustle. We visited as many of the markets as we could on our visit to Camden and you really are spoilt for choice!
Camden Lock Market situated by the Regents Canal is primarily a craft market but also offers a great selection of hot and cold food. During our visit, we also took a stroll down the canal and enjoyed watching the narrow boats going through the locks.
The Stables Market, the largest section of Camden Market, is a mixture of clothing, household goods and decorative items. The market is also very popular with alternative sub-cultures offering a huge range of cyber-punk, goth art, and clothing.
Camden Lock Village is the place to go for lunch, the amount of food stalls and the variety available is truly overwhelming! The market is set up along the banks of the canal and you can go around using one of the very cool Vespa-style scooter seats to eat and enjoy the view. There is also a good range of jewelry and clothing available here.
Buck Street Market is a smaller outdoor market that primarily focuses on clothing. Confusingly, its sign reads “The Camden Market”.
There are also the Electric Ballroom and Inverness Street Markets which offer a similar variety of goods.
The high street also has a large number of interesting shops, cafes, bars and restaurants open day and night.
There is a great night-life scene in Camden so whenever you visit, you will be assured of the fact that there is always something exciting happening in Camden Town.
