In June 2010, my boyfriend and I visited Berwick Upon Tweed, the northernmost town in England, for the first time - luckily I took my Fuji Instax Mini with us!
Situated close to the Scottish border, Berwick is the most Northern town in England and was fought over regularly in the beginning of the 19th century.
Due to this Berwick is a highly forticated town with prominent features still visible today including the Town Walls and the Barracks. Berwick also has the most incredible architecture including the Royal Border Bridge and the Royal Tweed Bridge.
Aside from a fascinating town history, Berwick also has an amazing coast line and taking a walk along the beach is breathtaking. Unlike other coastal towns, Berwick seems untouched by tourist attractions such as arcades and tack shops which gives the town a strong cultural feel and made our stay even more enjoyable.
