Forgotten Places - New Hope Ivyland Trains

The New Hope Ivyland Train ended the canal era and it too was brought to an end by the automobile. Here is what is left of it so many years later. Another haunting Lomography Location that I wasn't able to resist but take photos of.

When the New Hope Ivyland train line was put in, it antiquated the canal it was built along. Transporting mail, man, and material this was an important link between local areas until the automobile which eventually took its place. Now the train still operates on a local level as a historical tour but most of the cars were left to rot further down the line behind the station.

The locomotive, coal, coach, and mail car are still sitting behind the station. I brought my Canon AE-1 with the remainder of a roll of Lomo Redscale and my A-1 (has my fav multi-exposure function) with the remainder of a roll of Fuji 200. This location is actually pretty close to where I live which is why I was surprised when I was told about it and managed to stop by it on a regular walk around. However since I didn’t bring extra supplies I ran out of film before I managed to find a way into the cars! You can rest assured that I will be back with more of the amazing interiors so keep your eyes out.

Just a few days ago I drove by another section of the line with even more cars! Forgotten Places – New Hope Ivyland Trains II soon to come!
