Do you like to spend your weekend/holidays with adventure-packed activities? Do you love extreme sports and the wilderness? If you are, then I suggest you come over and spend some time here at the Chilling Waterfall in Kuala Kubu Baru, Selangor, Malaysia.
Kuala Kubu Baru is located at Hulu Selangor, Selangor about an hour away from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. It is a lovely, peaceful small town. For your information, Kuala Kubu Baru is already near to Fraser Hill (please refer to this article http://www.lomography.com/magazine/locations/2009/01/23/the-silent-frasers-hill by eva_eva). It was also mentioned in one of the songs of a famous Malaysian singer, Sudirman – Joget Kenangan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITVlE-guFBM)
Last week, my classmate who lives in Kuala Kubu Baru invited the whole class to come over. Actually, we planned the trip last semester but due to many problems we opted to delay it. It was a fun journey and along the way, we saw a large dam up at the hill. The scenery left us spellbound. I was speechless. I planned to snap some pictures around there, unfortunately I only brought one film, so I decided to save it for our adventure trip to the Chilling Waterfall.
Upon our arrival, we packed our belongings and walked to the entrance. The fee costs RM1 per person and it’s only open from Friday to Sunday. For those who love fishing, restrain yourself as it is prohibited here.
It took about a one-hour trek from the entrance to the waterfall. Along the journey, we have to cross about six rivers. Please take note, if you come over here, make sure you have a guide or you’ll end up getting lost.
Once you reach the waterfalls, I guarantee that you will be amazed by the crystal-clear water as you can see fishes swimming freely. The water’s definitely freezing although I am sure that you’ll not regret going to this place.
