Check out East London and discover the wonders along the the main roads, curries, graffiti, and more! Simply take a walk in this neighborhood and see the variety that the Aldgate/Brick Lane area has to offer our Lomography lenses.

Head to Brick Lane for a muddle of concrete, curries, and cool. Go on a Sunday for the bustling market or any day/time for a curry! Start at Whitechapel High Street and go to Osborne Street leading to Brick Lane.

As you walk down you will spy all kinds of shops, note the graffiti boards on the left with a mysterious building trying to be concealed, reams of fabric on the right, the unusual Indian cake shop on the left? Keep to the left and there is a curious alleyway leading to a top area for fly tipping and graffiti tagging.

See more ever-changing graffiti down Hanbury Street (just off Brick Lane on the right) for example a giant bird the size of a house! Here is where I caught the white paint spill across the road.

Just after Hanbury Street and before the Big Chill Bar, take a left past the food stall and find a hidden treasure of cool with various sample sales frequenting here: a red double-decker converted into a cafe and a few Bansky’s. Follow this path to the left and you’ll find yourself on the other side of Hanbury Street. Now follow this way from Brick Lane all the way to Commercial Street. On your way, you’ll spot vintage clothes stores, record shops even a Ukulele specialist shop! At the end of Hanbury Street, cross the road and enjoy the Old Spitalfield’s market, it’s a larger version of the popular apple market in Covent Garden.

You may even need to make a stop off at the Lomo store for more film! Now you are stocked up and have explored the Market head down to Commercial Street towards Whitechapel High Street and down Mansell Street which will plonk you right in front of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Continue from here to nearby St Katherine’s Dock. Boats, restaurants, and more or along the south bank towards the London eye!
