First Visit to Taiwan: the City of Taipei

This is my first visit to Taiwan and I'm glad that I'm in good company with my Diana F+ and Smena 8M. :D As an avid lomographer, I made sure that I would be able to find the local Lomography store in Taipei. Read on for more of my Taiwan adventures and of course, photos!

My hotel was located in the city of Taipei, near the Ximending shopping district and the “movie street”. It’s a shopping paradise full of city vibes.

You can find boutique stores such as Levi’s, Nike, Vans and many more if you are into brands. If you’re on a budget, you can also indulge in some street-style shopping where you can get more bang for your buck as well as check out the handmade souvenirs and gifts that you can take home to your family and friends!

You can also visit the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall or the Martyrs’ Shrine where you can observe the changing of the guards every hour, the whole process is quite an elaborate one, which takes about 25 minutes. Expect to have a throng of tourists around who are all scrambling to get a shot of the whole routine.

Of course, there’s also the famous Taiwanese street food, Shilin Night Market, and the Taipei 101, which are all considered as can’t-miss activities if you’re planning a trip here. As for me, I am definitely going back to Taipei again and next time I’ll surely take more photos!

For this trip, I was happy that I managed to find my way to the Lomography Gallery Store in Taipei. Yay!

Yea! Free & easy FTW! :D Btw, I think Shihlin Night Market is worth a go, but kinda over-rated? I think there is another one, "Raohe night market" I believe that one seems better. It's open-air :) But sadly, no photos :(

Nice article on taipei! I am from Taiwan, and I really don't recommend Shihlin Night Market .. too many tourists and too "chaotic"!

Raohe and Shida night markets are better! You should go check out Shida night market first when you visit Taipei next time!!
