One of my dreams since childhood has been to go to England, not only because it´s a beautiful country, but it's also the birthplace of one of my favorite bands, The Beatles. While I've yet to visit England, a recent vacation to New York led me to a place that every Beatles fan must visit. Strawberry Fields is a can't miss destination for someone like me.
I haven’t had the chance to travel to England yet, but when I went to New York, I made sure to not miss out on visiting one of John Lennon’s favorite places, Central Park, specifically, Strawberry Fields.
Strawberry Fields is a place inside this big park, which also pays tribute to Lennon, who resided nearby. This place is near the building where he lived and was murdered, but the Dakota, as this building is called, makes for another location entry.
Its name came from the famous Beatles’ song. It is characterized by a circle on the ground that has the beautiful word, “Imagine” at the center, a real hymn to not stop dreaming.
It’s definitely one of my favorite places, I was filled with emotion when I was there. Also, according to legend, Yoko Ono released some of John’s ashes on this side of the park because It was one of his favorite places in the city.
There are always fans around playing a song in his memory, making it even a more emotional experience.
So if you’re a fan of the Beatles, especially John Lennon, check out this place to find a bit of John’s legacy and be filled with his energy.
