A very small borough; in 2000 the population was a mere 77. However, there are always many more people visiting on a daily basis to take advantage of the outdoor recreation in the surrounding Ohiopyle State Park. The Youghiogheny River runs through the small town. With waterfalls and natural waterslides, it creates a great place to visit during the warm seasons. Just inside of the town is the Youghiogheny river, and several great swimming locations. Though there is a designated swimming area, it is also possible to find your own secluded spot to hide away from the rest of the public, and spend a relaxing day.
Within the surrounding park are rapids, waterfalls, and a short drive is Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water House. And in Ohiopyle you can stay at a quaint old-timey lodge.
