Vegas in the AM

Las Vegas may be known as "the city that never sleeps," but let me assure you that when the sun peeks up over the horizon, the city is pretty quiet -- and beautiful. Most people know Vegas only for the bright neon lights and the party atmosphere, but on a recent trip, I woke up just as the sun was rising over Las Vegas Blvd

(AKA “The Strip”) and took some pictures on my stroll. It was a quiet side of Vegas that most people never see, or they stumble through in a drunken stupor after a hard night of partying. Either way, the Strip at dawn is a quiet, reflective place.

Armed with my Diana F+ and a 35mm back, I was able to get some pretty interesting shots of a city in a light not usually seen.

The next time you find yourself in this traditional party town, try to go against the grain and appreciate the city in a different light.
