Linnanmäki Amusement Park

Whether you love the thrill of riding the roller-coaster, taking a romantic moment at the Ferris wheel, or reliving your childhood at the carousel, or or just plain enjoying yourself at the white-water ride - a trip to the amusement park Linnanmäki in Helsinki is always worth it!

The amusement park Linnanmäki, also called Lintsi, is located in the district Alppiharju near the center of Helsinki and is organized by Lasten Päivän Säätiö, a charity organization for children. The park is open from April till September and the admission is free. Of course the attractions and fun rides aren’t for free but it’s your choice if you just wanna have a look around, taking photos and enjoying the ambiance or if you don’t care about the money and buy the flatrate-wristband for non-stop fun. Single-ride tickets are also available for the smaller budget.

You can find 40 theme-park rides in the park, like Vuoristorata the wooden roller coaster (constructed 1951), Raketti the drop tower, Kieputin the top spin or Kirnu the rollercoaster. The most fascinating attraction for me was the Ferris wheel Rinkeli. Despite my fear of heights, I have ventured a ride and can simply say: great view!

You can find all the theme-park rides for your physical well-being here. Furthermore the Sea Life aquarium and the Peacock Teatteri are associated to the park. So, if you aren’t entertained for at least one day you are beyond help ;)
