Walking on Ice at Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada

Fancy taking a walk or lying on a lake? What about at one of the most beautiful, emerald blue water, glacial lake named Lake Louise? Well, it was my first time and it was crazily magical! An annual family vacation brought us all the way from halfway across the globe.

We went to Vancouver and then a 2 days drive to Banff National Park where we settled down at the famous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Straight after, we went for a walk at the lake and the view of the massive mountains facing the lake seems almost dreamlike. Just imagine walking on clouds…

After having a field day rolling around the frozen lake, we decided to explore and visit the Lake Louise Ski Resort, where it’s one of the largest ski areas in North America that has some of the Rockie’s most challenging terrains. We took some basic skiing lessons there and I actually skied right into the ski hut at the bottom of the slope. Classic.

Even though we woke up the next day with aches and bruises all over, everything was worth falling over for and I would so do it all over again!
