Pulau Ketam, or The Crab Island (translated directly from the local name), is a small island located in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. The island can be access easily thru ferry from a jetty in Port Klang. As its name, Pulau Ketam is originally a piece of mangrove swamps famous for its crabs, fishermen from the Port Klang traveled everyday to the island just to catch the crabs for their livings. The journey took one day for them to go and back from the island in those days, until they built small houses to stay overnight, and lastly decided to settle on the island.

The island’s villagers are mostly the Chinese, they live a simple and relaxing lifestyle. The villagers are very friendly to the island’s visitors as well. Bicycle are the only transportation on the island, there aren’t any vehicles nor motorcycles.
