Last month of May, just before summer finally took its toll, I bliss up north towards the swirling sunshine and whirling winds of Baguio City. Never mind the 6-hour bus rides and sudden outbursts of nimbus clouds, everywhere was a scenery. Her cold weather was truly inviting. I was a stranger in the city.

Never mind the 6-hour bus rides and sudden outbursts of nimbus clouds, everywhere was a scenery. Her cold weather was truly inviting. I was a stranger in the city.
I wore my Weezer tee and my high-cut sneaks, then I brought with me two of my analogue cameras: Kubrick, my Blackbird Fly; and Coppola, my Golden Half. I filled their guts with expired rolls of Velvias and I was more than ecstatic to see the crimson outcomes of my clicking spree.
Burnham Park, Session Road, Baguio Cathedral, ’50s Diner, Mines View Park, and Botanical Garden – chronologically, these are the places where the light was right and the strangers were kind. Every moment was a memory. And every frame was a reverie.
All of these sites in the bellowing city of Baguio, I went hand in hand with my only boy love. If it weren’t for him and I, these photographs would only mean a black hole. I love him and the city that surrounds our souls. We were strangers in the city. And we still are.
