IKEA @ Alexandra, SG

Furniture on your shopping list? What's the first name that comes to mind? You betcha its IKEA! And likely chances, something in your house probably has something from there. Amidst the well organised maze of Swedish ingenuity, lomoments are waiting to happen! So come on in and snap away!

The first IKEA in Singapore was built on Alexandra Road, a monolith of yellow letters on blue. Such bold colours were unheard of in prim and proper Singapore. And the colours certainly do not stop there, step into the building and the colours burst forth in many shapes and sizes.

Organisation seems to be the norm here in IKEA. Everything placed neatly and labelled with strange sounding names albeit with their proper description below. Pick up any item and amaze yourself with the creative minds that came up with them to make our lives easier. It is certainly not uncommon to see first time homemakers gushing over colourful sofas and bedding, creating their dream home out of the creative air in IKEA. But this big blue building isn’t just for overexcited adults, kids have fun too!

With a dedicated section for kids, children run around like its a party! Swings, seesaws, crayons, soft toys. Dream come true! Jumping kids on sofas and going down slides, definitely a photo moment!

Feeling hungry? Pop right over to the restaurant and have big meal! Swedish meatballs to die for and poached salmon, thats some good food there. But remember to clear your trays!

So the next time you need to redecorate your room but short on space, IKEA’s your place! (not to mention great photos! ;D)

In the first photo above the couch it says $159 and in photo 17 you can see the hotdog sign that says $1, just think it's weird that the signs are in US Dollars when it's in Singapore :P

@fash_on - I see...well looks like the $ sign and the prices are the exact same as they are in the I thought it was in US Dollar. So singapore and USA share the same $ to represent currency eh?
