Dancing with the commuters in the LRT

The Light Rail Transit is Metro Manila's first metro wide train network. An afternoon and an LCA could surely make for an interesting afternoon.

The Light Rail Transit is Metro Manila’s first metro wide train network. An afternoon and an LCA could surely make for an interesting afternoon. So there I was at the Pedro Gil Station, waiting for the perfect shot. But I couldn’t get one as the guards could get a little bit suspicious this side of town. I didn’t dare peep into the viewfinder. Instead I shot from the hip, from the floor, from the railing and from the bench. I really had no idea how the shots would look like, till now.

I remember how I use to hate the LRT before. I used to commute to Makati through this line. I had no choice, EDSA sports a monstrous traffic, and there was no other way that I can get to Makati on time if I would not make creep into a cab full of men and women. Back then in 2000, there were no aircondtioned cabs yet. Just imagine the sweat mixing with the frustration of getting to where the people need to go on time. Ah, a concoction for disaster.

But now, it is all-good. Even better. Airconditioned cabs, wider at that makes sure that you get to go where you need to go minus the stress of traffic and being lumped together with other people into a “sardine can.”

Air conditioning makes a big difference when you are around a bunch of weird, smelly people who have been working all day.lol
