A post to say goodbye to Québec city. I lived there for about five years and moved recently away. I’m leaving dear friends and a fantastic city behind.
I arrived in Québec city in September 2005, coming from Paris, and moving there for my studies. From a French perspective, I was initially very surprised by the language barrier. Yes, people there speak French, but with a very particular accent. For the first three months I really had a hard time, because I couldn’t have a conversation without laughing. I wasn’t making fun of them; I was just surprised I couldn’t understand anything. And surprise often makes me laugh. I progressively got used to it, and after a while discovered that, in fact, I was the one with an accent…
Québec cityis a wonderful city where people are extremely nice, always ready for a beer, a concert or a snow-ball war. Yeah, it’s a very active city with festivals, concerts, circus, bars, nightclubs… Everything you need to efficiently distract you from your studies! The other striking thing is the snow in winter. I had never seen so much snow in my life. I couldn’t even imagine it was possible. At night the snowplows are making huge noise and your house shake.
Here are a few spots that you shouldn’t miss if you visit Québec city:
The aquarium of Québec, with jumping seals, swimming toothless walruses and bored polar bears.
The Château Frontenac, the major touristic attraction, in front of the St-Laurent River, deserves a visit.
Downtown Québec and the old Québec are really pretty, mixing old and modern architecture, and always full of activities.
Next to the château, are the ‘plaines d’Abraham’ a big green area where I fell in love with a tree. I know, you’ve seen this tree enough, but I loved it, so I wanted to say goodbye.
A place where you don’t really need to go is the University. But as I was going there almost every day, it was shot in many angles. Here you’ll notice how students love snow.
And finally, a place that you’ll probably never visit is my room, with view on a stinky paper factory. Here is just to remind us about the ‘from my window’ feature of the old lomography site…

So that’s it. Goodbye Québec! And goodbye rater and androfun, I’ll miss you! But we’ll see each other again of course. And I’m sure you’re taking a good care of my Jobo…

Ah, I almost have a tear falling... you are missed in Quebec, by us and your jobo! I was wondering when you would do a Quebec Location, as you have so much photos done here! Beautiful galleries my friend!

Wow the N 32 half color half BW is awesome. What's the procedure? I guess you developed the films in their proper chemicals or? I'm wondering if it's possible to process the BW together with C41, but i've never tried it myself.
