Our trip to an old Ottoman Capital, Edirne.

Edirne was the capital of the Ottoman Empire before Istanbul was conquered. A few of the well-known Ottoman sights are thus within Edirne, like the Selimiye Mosque or the Old Mosque.
Our day began at Selimiye, architect Sinan’s masterpiece. It is a sight that competes with Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. After that we visited a few more mosques, like the Lale Mosque, the Mosque with 3 Balconies and the Ulu Mosque, which has the words “Allah”, and “Mohammed” written in huge script on the outer walls. Then we took a walk around the Tunca River and visited the Bayezid II Külliye Health Museum. That building was used as an asylum in the Ottoman days and nowadays; in each room there are different showcases for different treatments from those times, such as melancholy, lunatics, etc.
Of course all that sight seeing got us hungry and we got to taste the most amazing liver we ever had!
And well, we took a lot of photos! Which made it a really fun day!
