Varadero The Clear Water Paradise

If you seek beautiful underwater photos and drinking mojitos watching the sunset this is the perfect LomoLocation!!

Located in the island of Cuba, Varadero is a turist city built almost specifically for suporting the imense number of hotels and resorts. If you see it on the map its shape is that of a long and thin peninsula on the north side of the island, no more than 1 km long. On both sides the warm water corrents make it a great place to swim, dive, or just take sunbaths aboard a rubber dingy! You can use and abuse of the fisheye submarine or the lca crab. The photos come out incredibly clear, luminous and sharpe!! there’s almost no dust flouting.

The beach also provides good shooting material, especially after some mojitos!! The temperature is 25ºC all year around and music is everywhere. The food is great and you must try to have dinner on the beach. If you are lucky you can even go to a fisherman’s house and taste a wonderful grilled lobster with Cuban wine (maybe not the best on the market but hei…). As always the best time of the day to shoot is in the early morning and late afternoon but for the underwater pictures the most intense light time is the best. I really loved the colours of the country and of this particular town. You can also go on 1 or 2 day trips to other parts of the island. I recommend to rent a car and go around the island.

Varadero is the place I liked less in Cuba but the tip to rent a car is the best thing you can do to get to know the island (and the less touristic spots). Mojitos are great and so do your photos!

Really awesome people shots. I'm surprised not more people mentioned that. You've really captured something unique and fun. I love your shots.
