Krabi is a good place for a short get away with its beautiful and pristine beaches, many activities to engage you (whether the relaxing or sporting) and its hot tropical weather which helps to take your blues away!
A recent trip to Krabi brings me more than expected. Other than the planned activity of rock climbing, the place offer aplenty for the tourist seeking to rest and relax. For the inactive, there are lots of relaxing spa and massages around the island. You can go for the hot springs as well, although the weather is rather too hot for one to consider this option – well, at least for me. Otherwise, you can take a long boat / speed boat and go around island hopping. For the island hoppers, a popular route will be from Ao Nang to the ‘Four Islands’ – Ko Poda, Ko Gai (Chicken Island), Ko Tub (where there are many sandbar along the beaches), and the beautiful Phra Nang Bay on Railay peninsula.
These beaches, in accessible by road, is considered to be one of the most beautiful strips of sand in the world. Other islands for considerations are the Hongs Island, part of the Marine National Park and Phi Phi Island. Maya Bay at Phi Phi island is where the movie ‘The Beach’ was filmed. You could also consider other sporty activities like caving, where you climb up the caves to overlook the beautiful beaches at Railay Island and water rafting. It will be a good beach holiday and get-away I guaranteed with the beautiful sand, sea and sun!
