Warfaaz Lake and a Castle in my Head

A little lake in one of the most beautiful city of Belgium. Spa is also called water city because there's a lot of water sources. Take few minutes for coming in Belgium with your screen...

Come to my home… Let’s walking less than 5 minutes and we are at the Warfaaz lake. At the beginning of last century, the lake Warfaaz was built as a dam, due to the catastrophic floods that have devastated Spa.

In 1980 years, the lake was drained for cleaning track, following its silting. The last day of work, a violent storm has completely filled the lake, and this, in one night … Amazing. Imagine what would have happened at Spa, located downstream if the dam did not exist …

Warfaaz lake is very nice and peaceful… surrounded by trees. People are walking, running, biking, fishing… It’s a place where you can just breathe.

There’s also a little castle so amazing… You can see it at the first shot. Nestled on the cornice of Balmoral, one of the most luxurious Castle Spa, called Chateau La Heid des Pouhons "was built in the Anglo-Norman style. It enjoys exceptional views overlooking the Warfaaz lake, Spa, Nivezé Sart and Tiège.

This prestigious building was built in 1912 and 1913 at the initiative of Baron Jean de Witte Crawhez by Castermans the architect and the Viatour contractor. It was occupied by General Ludendorff during the 1st war, the residence of Chancellor of the German Empire Von Hertling in 1918 and again in 1920 by Lloyd George, English diplomat.

Enjoy this little place on your screen !
